About the event
The MAV Technology Local Government forum “Datalicious!” will be held on Friday 7 December 2018 in the New York Bakery at Sovereign Hill, Ballarat. The day-long program will discuss all things data, and will include council case studies on IoT networks, data insights, open data, data lakes, security, standards and ethics – and how to use hacks, jams and Smart Cities initiatives in your council. There will also be ample networking opportunities, fueled by great food for morning tea and lunch.

This free forum is recommended for people from MAV Technology member councils (that’s most Victorian councils) who want to learn about how data is changing the way council provide services for their communities. Showcasing council innovation – Free event
The MAV Technology “The Award Winners” forum will be held on Friday August 2018 at The Substation in Newport. The day-long program will showcase the award-winning digital innovation achievements of local government teams from Hobsons Bay City Council, Melbourne City Council, Wyndham City Council, Southern Grampian Shire Council, East Gippsland Shire Council, Manningham City Council, Wellington Shire Council, the MAV and Sunshine Coast Council.
The project teams will present details of projects that won awards in the categories of Smart Cities, Strategy & Planning, Collaboration & Partnerships and Customer Experience. The projects include High Impact Parking Sensor Data, Built Environment Sustainability Scorecard, Community IoT Network, Drone program for planning & asset management, Creative Technology Hub, Customer Centric Infringement Review, Citizen Connect Contact Centre, Online view, payments and lodgement, Street Register, Educloud – Education Cloud Project and 3D Geo-spatial modeling for Smart Cities.
In a first for MAV Technology, the forum has been selected to be a launch event for the Victorian Government’s Digital Innovation Festival! The forum will be included in the DIF program, promoting and opening the forum to a wider audience of entrepreneurs, innovators, changemakers, thought leaders and rule breakers. The DIF fosters economic resilience for Victoria and champions the leaders of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The forum is free thanks to MAV Technology, the Digital Innovation Festival, Thomas Duryea Logicalis and ATI Australia. It is recommended for Councillors, CEOs, Corporate Services Directors, business transformation leaders, customer experience teams; and of course, Information Management, GIS and ICT leaders. MAV Technology October Forum 2017
The “The New Way of Working” forum will be held on 31 October 2017 at RACV Inverloch Resort, 70 Cape Paterson-Inverloch Road, Inverloch. The day-long program will focus on mobility, activity-based working, collaborative business transformation and agile methodologies. We’ll hear from metro and regional councils who are at various stages of enabling and implementing these new ways of working. We’ll also hear from providers with products and services to help councils achieve efficiency and productivity gains.
As always, there will be great catering and ample opportunity to network with colleagues from around Victoria. This event is free for staff and councillors from MAV Technology member councils.
